Clear Answers and the Best Possible Care

Several months ago, Crandon’s veterinarian discovered a mass on his spleen and several nodules on his liver. While findings like these can be frightening, the only way to know exactly what they are is to send test samples to a pathologist, someone specially trained to examine tissues under a microscope. The most accurate and reliable way to determine whether masses are cancerous or benign is through these biopsies.

Wanting clear answers and the best possible care for their boy, Crandon’s mom scheduled a splenectomy and biopsies with Dr. Ayre at Anicira. Surgery went smoothly and successfully, allowing the team to safely remove Crandon’s spleen and send samples out for testing.

The wait for results can feel endless, but the day Crandon returned for his staple removal, he was reunited with the care team who had been cheering him on at every step. During that visit, his mom received the wonderful news they had been hoping for: Crandon was negative for cancer.

Seeing him back with his team, tail wagging, made for an incredibly special moment. We’re thrilled for this sweet boy and grateful to have been part of his journey. Here’s to many more happy, healthy years with his loving family!
