Reading Together, Caring Together

Our 2nd annual Tales & Tails story time at Massanutten Regional Library was a huge success! On Saturday, August 22nd, Dr. Micah Thompson and Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician Missy Blackman gave kids of all ages a glimpse into the world of veterinary care.

Dr. Thompson kicked things off by reading playful animal-themed stories. Afterward, she and Missy transformed the room into a mini hospital, where dozens of beloved stuffed animals got check-ups from kids dressed up as veterinarians, complete with lab coats, face masks, and gloves. They also explored their creativity with a fun craft, making their own cut-out veterinarians with cat companions to take home.

We’re grateful to the library for providing a welcoming space for families to learn about animal care. Through a shared mission of community outreach and education, we hope we inspired a few future veterinarians and veterinary care members!
