Petco Foundation Invests in Lifesaving Work of Anicira

Harrisonburg, VA (July 8, 2020) – Anicira announced it has been awarded a grant investment from the Petco Foundation to help reduce the number of pets entering shelters through by providing medical care for pets whose families could not otherwise afford it. 

The Petco Foundation investment will help pet parents access resources such as veterinary care and pet food assistance with the goal of keeping families together. This grant allows Anicira to continue lifesaving work by helping provide a much-needed safety net by serving cats, dogs, and their families who may not have any other options for care in times of need.

“Through making  access to spay/neuter surgeries for underserved pets in our community a priority, we hope to improve the health and general well-being of pets in need of care,” said Cate Lemmond, President and CEO of Anicira.

Anicira is a nonprofit organization committed to serving animals and the community of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County through veterinary services, education, outreach, shelter, care and protection program to help animals live healthy lives in a safe environment.
