Zuda Saved from Economic Euthanasia
Zuda needed lifesaving emergency surgery after he ingested a toy. Unable to afford the cost of care at an emergency hospital, his family was seriously considering economic euthanasia. On the day of Zuda’s scheduled surgery, he did not arrive. Concerned, we contacted his family and learned of their difficult decision. Fortunately, they had not yet gone through with the euthanasia yet. We urged them to bring Zuda in, assuring them we would find a way to perform the life-saving surgery. We covered the cost of Zuda’s surgery, and he returned home happier and healthier to his loving family.
