Just before Valentine’s Day, Inada’s health took a sudden and terrifying turn. She became severely lethargic, began vomiting uncontrollably, and was suffering from bloody diarrhea. She was no longer herself.
At the emergency room, an ultrasound revealed a likely cause—a foreign object lodged deep in her abdomen. “She’s in shock, in critical condition,” the vet told Inada’s parents, urgently recommending emergency surgery to save her life.
The next day, her parents arrived at Anicira, hearts heavy with fear. But Inada’s condition had worsened, and she was too unstable to undergo anesthesia. For 24 tense hours, our team and her loving family worked around the clock to stabilize her, holding onto hope.
On Valentine’s Day, Inada was finally strong enough. Surgeons removed the life-threatening obstruction: a corn cob.
Inada survived. And today, she’s still here—because of her family’s dedication, the tireless care of our team, and the generosity of people like you.
