The Power of Early Detection: Hazel’s Story

Hazel is a sweet 5-year-old kitty with a very loving and attentive mom. About six months ago, her mom noticed a mass developing on Hazel’s neck. Because it was growing quickly, her veterinarian recommended having it surgically removed and sent out for pathology, and her mom didn’t hesitate to do what was best for her.

The results revealed that the mass was cancerous. Fortunately, the great news is that Anicira was able to remove it completely. While we always hope for the best, not every situation has a clear or easy outcome. In Hazel’s case, early intervention and pathology gave her the best fighting chance.

This is exactly why it’s so important to send masses out for evaluation; different types of cells can lead to very different treatment plans. Knowing what you’re dealing with helps you make the most informed decisions possible.

Hazel’s mom continues to monitor her closely and will decide on next steps with her veterinarian based on what’s best for Hazel. We’re so grateful for the incredible care and love she’s shown her sweet girl. No matter what lies ahead, one thing is certain: Hazel’s life has been full of comfort, devotion, and so much love.
