Spirit’s Dentistry Success

This is Spirit, a sweet senior pup, who came to our hospital recently for a dentistry procedure.

Spirit was fully anesthetized and had radiographs taken of her entire mouth. Those pictures revealed advanced dental disease, including infected teeth. Under anesthesia, 19 teeth were extracted to relieve her pain and restore her comfort. Spirit recovered smoothly, and Mom says, “She is doing really well, I am happy to update. Her friends at Dog Beach have definitely noticed a difference in her energy and strength. Thank you so much to the nurses; I’m glad they enjoyed her, and I’m sure they gave her so much love. I am indebted.” We love to hear that!

For reference, puppies start with 28 baby teeth that are later replaced by 42 adult teeth. Over time, dental disease can affect many of them, which is why regular dental exams, X-rays, and cleanings are so important. Thanks to her procedure, Spirit is now pain-free, healthy, and smiling again! Huge thanks to her Mom for taking such great care of her!
