Anicira Partners with MBM Spay/Neuter Clinic to Offer Free Veterinary Care

Anicira's SEO and Practice Manager present a check for $15000 to MBM Spay/Neuter Clinic

Bristol, VA  – Anicira Veterinary Center and Margaret B. Mitchell Spay/Neuter Clinic partnered together to provide more than 200 free spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, and microchips to pets from Lee County, VA. Started in October 2020, the program helps decrease the number of homeless pets and improves the health of cats and dogs in Lee County. Pets are transported from Lee County to Margaret B. Mitchell Spay/Neuter Clinic where Anicira covers the cost of their care.

Anicira has partnered with Lee County Animal Shelter since 2016 to help reduce the number of homeless dogs in the animal shelter. Of the 1,400 animals Anicira has transferred from Lee County, only about 5% of them were spayed or neutered when they entered the shelter.

“This strategic partnership to help pets in Lee County is consistent with our mission to help end animal suffering. It also supports and improves access to high quality, affordable veterinary services”, said Cate Lemmond, President and CEO of Anicira. “Based on the success of the program, we know that pets are receiving needed care that will allow them to live happier, healthier lives and remain with the  families who love them.”
