Anicira Helps Underserved Pets
Free Spay/Neuter Surgeries, Vaccines and Microchips
Anicira began providing free spay/neuter surgeries to pets of residents of Lee County in October 2020. Through a partnership with the Margaret B. Mitchell Spay/Neuter Clinic in Bristol, 98 pets have been spayed or neutered. The program is ongoing and many more pets will be spayed/neutered over the coming months. Anicira has partnered with Lee County Animal Shelter – located in the most economically disadvantaged county in the state of Virginia – since 2016 to help reduce the number homeless dogs in the animal shelter. Investing in spaying and neutering pets in Lee County will help decrease the birth of unwanted litters and improve the health of pets in the area. Of the 1,400 animals Anicira has transferred from Lee County, only about 5% of them were spayed or neutered when they entered the shelter.

Donating Supplies
Last week, Anicira donated 500 pounds of pet food, leashes, crates, cleaning materials, distemper vaccines, flea and tick meds, and many more supplies to Lee County Animal Shelter. A member of our team made the 12 hour round trip drive to drop off donations with our friends at Lee County Animal Shelter. We’re grateful to be able to support Lee County’s hard work helping pets!
