Anicira offers a comprehensive surgical package for splenectomy surgery. The cost of the procedure is $1900 for dogs weighing 50 lbs or less. Preanesthetic blood work is $150 and may be necessary before surgery.
An additional fee will be applied for patients over 50 pounds.
- 51-75 pounds $110 additional weight adjustment
- 76-100 pounds $150 additional weight adjustment
- >101 pounds $200 additional weight adjustment
A splenectomy is the surgical removal of the spleen. If there is a tumor on the spleen and left untreated the tumor could rupture.
Once removed the mass would be sent out for histopathology to determine if it is cancerous or benign.
Spleens could also be damaged from trauma or infections.
