Accessible Pet Orthopedic Surgery
At Anicira, we provide accessible expert surgical care. Our experienced surgical team combines advanced diagnostics with compassionate, skillful care to ensure your pet is as safe and comfortable as possible—before, during, and after surgery. Orthopedic surgery is available at our Manassas and San Diego hospitals.
All procedures are performed outpatient, and we offer complimentary follow-up appointments to monitor healing and recovery.

What’s Included in Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery
Our comprehensive surgical packages are designed to prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and recovery:
- Pre-anesthetic physical exam
- Customized anesthesia plan based on your pet’s age, breed, and health
- IV catheter and fluid therapy (as needed)
- Continuous monitoring of vitals (EKG, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen levels, temperature)
- Patient warming system
- Pain management before and after surgery
- Antibiotics, additional medications, and E-Collar (if needed)
- Follow-up exam if necessary
Pre-Anesthetic Blood Work
Pre-anesthetic blood work is strongly recommended to ensure your pet is a good candidate for anesthesia and surgery. It may be required for certain procedures or pets over 5 years of age. Testing can be completed the morning of surgery or during a pre-op visit.
Surgery Eligibility
To qualify for outpatient surgery at Anicira:
- Pets must be spayed or neutered. If not, we can schedule a spay/neuter procedure prior to or in conjunction with the surgery.
- We do not perform cosmetic surgeries, including declawing, ear cropping, or tail docking.
