Melissa is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and has spent 15 years in the veterinary field, beginning as a veterinary assistant and client service representative before growing into her leadership role as Hospital Administrator. Her journey in animal care began when she rescued her first dog, Dakota, at age 20 — a decision that sparked a lifelong passion for animal welfare.
Melissa is deeply committed to supporting the human–animal bond and helping pet families in need. At Anicira, she finds fulfillment in creating a positive workplace culture, coaching team members toward professional growth, and ensuring pets receive compassionate care regardless of financial barriers. Her work allows her to be both an advocate for animals and a source of support for their families during challenging times.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys life in Staunton with her partner, their young daughter Rylee, and their beloved pets — Bruno, Calli, Daisy, Milo, Oakley, and Rhino. She treasures time spent with family, friends, and her close-knit community in the Shenandoah Valley.
