Dr. Pound’s passion for veterinary medicine began in animal shelters, where she worked with vulnerable animals and discovered a calling to improve their lives. Her experiences caring for shelter pets and fostering sick cats on their journey to adoption inspired her to pursue a career as a veterinarian and sparked a lasting interest in feline health and behavior. Dr. Pound earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Shippensburg University before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University. Additionally, Dr. Pound is a certified Cat Friendly Veterinarian and an active member of the Feline Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Pound enjoys helping families better understand their pets’ medical, behavioral, and enrichment needs, and strengthening the human-animal bond through education and compassionate care. Her professional interests include feline medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine, and she is especially passionate about ensuring that all cats receive the care they deserve. Outside of work, Dr. Pound enjoys reading, hiking, camping, spending time with family, and caring for her cats and two dogs.
