Dr. Carrie Kay earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Kansas State University before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked for three years as a mixed-animal veterinarian before joining Anicira. She is particularly passionate about soft tissue surgery, geriatric care, and educating pet owners so they feel confident making decisions about their animals’ health.
Dr. Kay is deeply committed to continuous learning and providing high-quality, compassionate care to every patient. She values the opportunity Anicira gives her to offer a wide range of veterinary services while making them more accessible to families. Her goal is always to treat every pet as if it were her own. Outside the hospital, she enjoys hiking, baking, and spending time on the farm with her family, where she and her husband raise cattle. She is also the proud owner of Rio, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and two orange cats, Tod and Boomer, whom her husband rescued as kittens.
