Dr. Carrie Kay earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Kansas State University before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent three years practicing as a mixed-animal veterinarian before joining Anicira. She especially enjoys soft tissue surgery, geriatric care, and educating pet parents so they feel confident making decisions about their pets’ health.
Dr. Kay is passionate about continually learning and providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient. She loves that Anicira allows her to provide a wide variety of care while making veterinary services more accessible to families. Her goal is to always treat each pet as if they were her own. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Kay enjoys hiking, baking, and spending time on the farm with her family, where she and her husband raise beef cattle. She is also a proud pet parent to Rio, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and two orange cats, Tod and Boomer, whom her husband found as kittens.
