Dr. Barbara Bearden

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Barbara Bearden earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. With approximately 14 years of experience in the veterinary field, her early career was shaped by working alongside veterinarians who inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine and continue growing as a compassionate professional.

Dr. Bearden takes great satisfaction in educating clients on preventative care and helping families maintain their pets’ health for as long as possible. At Anicira, she values the opportunity to provide high-quality care to pets from families facing financial challenges.

Throughout her career, Dr. Bearden has taken pride in saving patients from euthanasia and helping them find loving homes. Known for her honesty and dedication, she believes that pets enrich human lives and deserve the best possible health and well-being.

Dr. Bearden’s areas of special interest include preventative medicine, internal medicine, and dermatology. She is committed to treating every pet as a family member and supporting their families every step of the way.

Outside of work, Dr. Bearden enjoys exploring Virginia’s natural beauty, trying new restaurants, thrifting, and staying active through exercise. She shares her home with Cannon, a 12-year-old mixed-breed rescue dog; Briar, a 10-year-old domestic shorthair rescue cat; Guava, a 9-year-old stray cat; Cora, a 6-year-old American Bully; and Jack, a 5-year-old domestic shorthair.
