Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) surgery helps your pet move more comfortably and relieves pain caused by a torn cruciate ligament. Early surgery is recommended to reduce the risk of further damage to the knee joint. At Anicira San Diego, the cost of TPLO surgery ranges from $5200 to $7500.
Additional Services at the Time of Surgery
During your pet’s surgical visit, we can also provide:
- Vaccinations
- Some diagnostic testing
- Microchipping ($39)
Pre-anesthetic blood work ($160) is available and may be required to help ensure your pet’s safety before surgery. We can accept blood work performed within the last month.

Worth the drive from LA to San Diego I was able to get my cat eyelid surgery(entropion) which would of cost me 3,500 dollars if gone somewhere else. It was only 600 dollars meds and cone included! Here is my cat Blanco before and after surgery!

This was by far my best experience with a veterinary office ever! They explained everything in detail and took excellent care of Zeke. They were able to extract 11 of his teeth. He's 14 years old and healing so quickly. He already has more energy than before the surgery and that's with pain relievers. Anicira has allowed us to add quality years to Zeke's life. TPLO Surgical Care includes:
- Pre-anesthetic physical examination
- Individualized general anesthetic plan based on age, body type, breed
- Patient warming system
- Anesthetic vital sign monitoring by licensed professional care team members to include blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, temperature, EKG medication to ensure that our patients remain comfortable both during and after the procedure
- Additional medications, antibiotics, and E-Collar if necessary
- Follow-op exam if necessary
FAQ
Orthopedic recovery times vary between 8-16 weeks. Strict confinement will be necessary to ensure the success of the surgery.
After surgery care instructions:
- Strict confinement at all times
- Leash walk only for short bathroom breaks
- Assist your pet with a sling at all times for 2 weeks
- Walks should be no more than 5 minutes
- Keep your pet away from all potential hazards (including stairs).
