Donation-Funded Programs
Adoption Program
Since starting the adoption program in March 2016, Anicira has saved and adopted out over 1,000 dogs!
Anicira is dedicated to providing each dog with its best chance at a new life. All medical care needed is provided; below are a few of our dogs that needed a little extra help to find their “furever” homes.
Aidan’s Friends Fund & Feline Fund
These funds help Harrisonburg and Rockingham County dogs and cats be spayed or neutered. Economically disadvantaged families living in our community are eligible to receive subsidized surgeries for their pets thanks to our generous donors.
Trap-Neuter-Return
Trap-Neuter-Return, or TNR, is a program designed to humanely reduce the overpopulation of free-roaming, abandoned, and feral cats. These cats are safely trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, ear tipped, and returned home. A left ear tip is the universal symbol of a spayed/neutered and vaccinated cat. It is done while the cat is under anesthesia and it is not painful.
Since opening our clinic in 2005, Anicira has provided over 20,000 spays/neuters in our TNR program.
Pet Food Pantry
The Pet Food Pantry is a much-needed service in our community to help pets stay in their homes while their caregivers are facing financial stress. Over 3,000 lbs. of food is given out every month.
